Marine Le Pen Visits Russia to Meet with Putin


On March 24, Marine Le Pen, the leader of French party «National Front», came to Moscow to meet with Vladimir Putin.
 
Eventually, Marine Le Pen is reported to have met with President Putin and discussed with him the problem of international terrorism. Both countries had to face terrorist attacks a number of times in the past. Vladimir Putin says that everyone is living in difficult conditions these days, which is why they should realize the real dangers and threats coming from terrorists and united to fight them all around the world.
 
As for Marine Le Pen, she chares this standpoint and reminds us that both Russia and France belong to those countries that have been waging a real war on terrorism for years. Also, she thinks that it would be beneficial for both countries to exchange intelligence data related to terrorism to prevent potential threats.
 

 

Vladimir Putin also reassured Marine Le Pen that Russia is not going to influence the forthcoming presidential election in France under any circumstances but Russian politicians reserve the right to communicate with the representatives of any political forces from France, the way their American and European partners do.

Also, Marine Le Pen visited the Duma, which is the Russian parliament. She also gave a speech in there. During the speech, she shared her standpoint on some of the most important issues related to the bilateral relations between the Russian Federation and France. In particular, she doesn’t see any reason for Russia and France to be hostile to each other. On the contrary, she strongly believes that Moscow and Paris should retain close and friendly ties as they improve them. In the past, this ties were set in multiple fields, including trade, energy, culture and so on.
